Who We Are
ASLM Academy is a digital learning platform hosted at https://lms.aslmacademy.org. We offer online training programs using the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS), including a branded mobile application built on Moodle’s infrastructure. Our goal is to provide accessible, high-quality eLearning for professionals across the African continent and beyond.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect and prevent spam.
An anonymized string (hash) created from your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to verify if you’re using it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture may appear publicly with your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site may download and extract location data from these images.

Mobile App Data Use
The ASLM Academy Mobile App, built using Moodle’s Branded Mobile App platform, does not collect or process personal data directly. Any personal data processing occurs solely within the Moodle installation hosted at aslmacademy.org and only for the purpose of course access, learning progress tracking, or platform management.
No personal data is stored or transmitted via the mobile app itself.
Who We Share Your Data With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How Long We Retain Your Data

Comments and their metadata are stored indefinitely for moderation and follow-up purposes.

For registered users, we store personal profile information provided at registration. You can view, edit, or delete this data at any time (except your username). Site administrators also have access to this data.
Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have an account or have left comments, you may request an export of the personal data we hold, including data you provided. You may also request deletion of your data, excluding any information we are obliged to retain for legal, administrative, or security purposes.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be screened through automated spam detection services. Moodle’s external services may also be used for platform functionality but only in accordance with GDPR and related privacy regulations.

We follow the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as our global privacy standard. Any data collected is limited to the minimum necessary and processed only with your consent or for fulfilling educational and operational needs.
